Those who deal with energy have advantages in understanding where the world is going, since globalization and the environment have always affected the fuel industry. In 2020, the pandemic shattered global economies amidst the close interweaving of commercial and cultural relationships that helped the virus spread. It's a side effect of globalization that accelerated after 2001, when China signed the World Trade Agreement, a change that triggered a huge expansion of wealth around the world. At the same time, the environmental issue has now focused on climate change caused by CO2 emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels, coal, gas and oil, which together represent 80% of total energy consumption while renewable sources and nuclear, despite all the attempts of the last 50 years do not represent more than 20% of total consumption, but we must persist. Climate change and recovery, after the pandemic, are the themes on which we will shape our future and on which we must continue, as in the past, to seek synergies. These are developments that bring large-scale benefits for everyone, not only for those closely involved but, more importantly, for future generations.
